Coach Aly Clay

Born on the shores of California and raised in the heights of Utah, Coach Aly Clay began her athletic career as many of us do in a summer swim league and later became an accomplished competitive swimmer in her club and school programs.

Many years later, after returning from serving an 18-month church service mission in Malaysia and Singapore to resume her studies at Brigham Young University (BYU), her sister convinced her to run her first 5k. She dove -- quite literally -- into triathlon in Fall 2014 with the BYU Triathlon Team, where she not only became hooked on the sport, but she also snagged her husband, Brandon!

After graduating with a BS in Public Health, she moved to Charlotte, NC and received an MS in Human Nutrition from Winthrop University. As an assistant coach for Queens University of Charlotte's Mens and Womens triathlon program and as the head coach at Belmont Abbey College's Mens program, she gained valuable experience training amateur and elite athletes to acheive their best.

When not training or coaching, Aly can be found hiking, backpacking, camping, cooking, reading, photographing nature, contributing to community and religious volunteering, and spending quality time with her family.
